Ingredients
  

  • all-purpose flour
  • sugar
  • baking powder
  • warm milk (or water)
  • plain yogurt
  • instant dry yeast
  • vegetable oil or melted butter
  • melted garlic butter (optional, for brushing)
  • Fresh chopped cilantro or parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions
 

  • In a small bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 10 minutes until frothy.
  • In a large bowl, mix flour, salt, and baking powder.
  • Add yeast mixture, yogurt, and oil to the flour mix. Stir until a dough forms.
  • Knead on a floured surface for 8–10 minutes until smooth.
  • Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour until doubled in size.
  • Divide dough into 6 balls. Roll each into a teardrop or oval shape about 1/4 inch thick.
  • Heat a cast iron or non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Cook each naan for 1–2 minutes per side until bubbled and golden.
  • Brush with garlic butter and sprinkle with herbs if desired.
  • Serve warm.
